HITS NEWS PAGE UPDATE: 21 February 08
Welcome to the new HITS Website, Hitsvolleyball.com.
If you are, or were, an Advanced Level Player, and, If your time limits you from participating in Team Practices and Tournaments, then Welcome to the HITS Program, this is the place for you.
At HITS, you can maintain and improve your Advanced Level VB Skills, without having to devote serious time to the activities and commitments of an Advanced Level Team.
Men’s HITS Program
Consider that our Advanced HITS Doubles Players continue to finish in the money in the RI Doubles Club Tournaments. Consider further that our Advanced HITS Sixes Players continue to do well at Nationals. I feel that speaks well enough for HITS.
The Pro Doubles Tour returned to town last Summer, and was welcomed enthusiastically.
Some of our HITS Doubles Dudes made out well in the AVP Qualifiers.
Some Played, others Gained Experience.
High-Intensity Individual Training and Skills - HITS
To hone Individual Skills, we recommend to train in the Winter and Spring, for VB activities to take place in Spring and Summer. Consequently, one’s body has the necessary time to become acclimated to the necessary changes in footwork, armwhip, form and technique.
One also has the requisite time to develop one’s Advanced Reading Skills.
Men’s Advanced HITS
A very strong Men’s Advanced HITS Program was established at the December 2007 HITS Tryouts, under the direction of Coach Kurt Gurdal.
We have one opening at this time.
The next Men’s HITS Tryouts will take place 6 March 2008. Refer to the Tryouts Page for details.
Reverse Coed Doubles HITS Program
The extremely popular Reverse Coed Doubles HITS Program is taking place with activity hights at $20 per night, at the Waltham Athletic Club. This Program includes Individual Skills and Team Skills for upper level players competing in Reverse Coed Doubles Tournaments. The Individual Skill Set consists of: Pass, Set, Hit, Block, Serve and Read.
As we train as a Group, it is not necessary to Try Out, or to Sign Up, with a Partner. Neither do we discourage bringing a Partner.
The Net is set at Women’s Height. Women attack at the Net, while the Men attack from the 10 foot line. You will be training using the Wilson Outdoor AVP Official Game Ball.
Last summer’s Players enjoyed learning the Footwork and Passing for the Pro Style of Play, and this became their winning ways in RI.
